EM4000 Thickness Gauge

A pocket-size thickness gauge. Working with A-scan on the display is implemented


The EM4000 EMA thickness gauge measures thickness of steel pipes, sheet metal, rods, and other products made from steel, aluminum and other metals, with an operating gap between the transducer and metal of up to 3 mm. The gap can consist of dirt, rust, salt deposits, paint, varnish, enamel, plastic or other non-conductive coating.

EM4000 allows measurements without usage of couplant and without surface preparation.

In addition to measuring metal thickness, the EM4000 allows measuring the thickness of non-conductive coating on metal.


Tilt angle makes a minor effect on the device’s readings, in contrast to conventional thickness gauges with piezoelectric transducers that require transducer fixed in a certain position.

The technology enables thickness measurement with no couplant and preliminary surface cleaning

Integration with AR glasses or Android tablet

Connection to a tablet or other Android device allows expanding the EM4000 capabilities to work with B-scans, etc. At your request, EM4000 can equipped with AR glasses for working in hard-to-reach places

A special high-temperature transducer allows inspection of hot objects heated up to 750 °C.

The EM4000 thickness gauge has a color display protected by impact-resistant glass.

The device uses a special data processing algorithm that provides correct thickness measurements in the presence of disturbing factors such as metal anisotropy, usage of several reflectors, exposure to external interference. The algorithm allows reducing the human factor and simplifying the device interface.

Connection to a tablet, smartphone or another Android device allows expanding the EM4000 features: analyzing A-scans, B-scans, working with gates, selecting a thickness measurement mode, signal processing parameters, etc. The EM4000 can be connected to a tablet via Bluetooth.

At your request, the EM4000 can be equipped with AR glasses. AR glasses allow using the EM4000 in hard-to-reach places, where display readouts are impossible or difficult. In this case the readouts are displayed on the lenses of AR glasses and the operator can always see them.
